Crockpot Mexican Chicken

Hey Y'all!!! So here is a quick and healthy recipe. All you have to do is basically throw you chicken in the crockpot! It's that EASY!
 Here is what you need:
Crockpot
Chicken Breast
Organic Salsa (I use my Mom's homemade Salsa)
Greek Yogurt
Taco Seasoning
Wheat Wrap
Spinach

First thing you need to do is trim your chicken breast of fat. I use 3-4 chicken breast. Then You take the Taco Seasoning and rub it all over the chicken.
Next you take the salsa and pour it on top of the chicken.
Put the lid on, turn your crockpot on low, and Walk away! Usually takes around 8 hours. After the 8 hours, take the chicken out and put it on a plate to shred it.
Take some greek yogurt and Salsa and mix in a bowl. The greek yogurt acts as a substitute for sour cream.(Jamie Speiser's recipe for the sauce)
Spread the sauce on our Wrap, put your shredded chicken on, and top with some spinach.
And Wa-Lah you have dinner:)
I hope you like and let me know what you think! Thanks and ENJOY!!!

Tone those Jiggly Arms

I have gotten a few questions on  how to tone those JIGGLY arms. As I said before, its hard to tone a muscle when there is hardly one to begin with. In other words, you can't go do 50 reps of bicep curls and expect to have these fabulous arms. Even toning muscles requires effort. Those last few reps should be a struggle, no matter if you are doing 8 reps or 20 reps. It shouldn't be easy! I am not saying to go out and try to curl 25 pound dumb bells. I am saying to pick a weight that you don't feel as comfortable with. If 10 lb. dumbbells are too easy then go up to 12.5's and if you are still not feeling the burn towards the end of your set, go up to the 15's. Most women think you are going to look like a man if you lift heavy. Wrong! I lift heavy, I am very toned, and I do not look like a man. My suggestion is to start with an arm circuit 2 days a week and really push yourself. Also, remember that muscles grow at rest and to aid in that growth requires lean protein. After a workout, your muscles need to be fed protein and your glycogen stores replenished. Meaning that you can have a protein shake and a complex carb, like a banana or sweet potatoes, after a workout. It needs to be consumed within 30 minutes of you completing the workout. If you go to the gym, then you have everything you can imagine to get your arm workout in! If you don't belong to a gym or if you are a stay at home mom, then all you need are dumbbells. Here is an example of an Arm Circuit Workout:

Moms on a tight Schedule

So I got a question from a Mom that is on a tight schedule due to her daycare at the gym is only a 1 hour period. Her concern is that is wants to tone and tighten her thighs, legs. You think "Gosh I only have a hour", but you can much accomplished in a hour. Do not make this your social power hour or else you won't get your workout in. So to tone and tighten, no amount of cardio will help. Toning and tightening comes from lifting weights and having a good diet. Whenever you are on such a tight schedule, you have to have really good time management. Make your concern your priority of your workout. If your legs and thigh are your concern, then take 40 minutes and lift weights and finish with a quick cardio session. Fact: Cardio will not tone and tighten! Cardio actually burns muscle and if you have not muscle to begin with then you just get skinny, not toned. To tone muscle, you must have muscle. :) An example of a quick, but effective leg session is as follows:
Squats: 4 sets of 20 reps. 1 minute rest in between sets.
Barbell Lunges: 4 sets of 20 each leg: 1minute rest
Wide Sumo Deadlifts: 4 sets of 15: 1 minute rest https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XynUSDVyd6Q
Barbell Bridges: 4 sets of 20: 30 sec rest https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bB7V1TOQtMA
Leg Curl Superset with Leg Ext. 4 sets of 20: 30 sec rest in between supersets
These exercises hit almost every part of your leg. Even though, the reps are 15 to 20, these should not be easy. You shouldn't be flying through them. The last 3 reps should be a struggle. And if you have time even if its 10 minutes, finish with cardio. Being a Mom is all about juggling your time. Being a stay at home mom for years, I had to have an outlet. Even if it was going to the gym for only a hour. I had to be around people and have a conversion other then a 2 year old. ha! Don't forget Moms that you have to make time for yourself. Yes... you are the whole center of the universe to this perfect child, but you still have a life to live of your own also. I hope this helps:)
